Learning journey at shimano museum -

It is fascinating to see how bicycles evolve over time.

There are quite a few innovative designs such as the bicycle motocross (BMX). BMX can be used for racing or stunt riding.

We are permitted to test out and use their offering. Bicycle E-shifting gear is a Shimano product. It's amusing to observe how E-shifting functions. In fact, the design is very creative.

Lesson 8
fusion 360 workshop

In this Fusion 360 workshop, we learn how to free form a mouse. Free form lets you use your imagination and make your own shapes.
This is my finished mouse design that we were instructed to free form.

In the second session of the workshop, we acquired generative design skills.

Generative Design is a multi-objective design exploration tool that aids in the discovery of fresh approaches to designing components under constraints of cost, performance, and manufacturability.

Our task is to create the phone holder using generative design. My generative design result is shown in the image to the right. I think it's really cool that the AI produced so many different designs. The entire process is around 20 minutes.

We are going to be designing a bicycle component that lesson. I decided to make a holder for water bottles. Using the skills we learned during the workshop, this is my final design.

The first step is to design and sketch the mount. I decided to put my water bottle holder on the frame near the pedals.

The next step is to do generative design. I applied the structural loads and locked the base of the water bottle holder mount. After checking all of the inputs, I then went on to generate my design. I am satisfied with the final outcome as it resembles a bottle holder.

The bottle holder's appearance and construction are changed as the final step. Plastic is the material I chose, and I went with the colour blue because I like it.

Lesson 9
Animation and Rendering

We learned how to use Fusion 360 to create animation in this lesson. A design can be animated to create an exploded view.
An exploded view of a pen knife is shown in the image to the right.

This is my animation of a pen knife.

Rendering -

Rendering in Fusion 360 is the process of generating realistic and visually appealing images or animations of 3D models. We learned how to alter scene backgrounds and design appearance. The scene background has a wide range of options.

Rendering part 2 -

In addition, I learned how to manipulate camera settings, apply materials, and modify lighting for rendering. I altered the material of the trophy above to gold and the base to wood. After that, I rendered the picture and applied background shadow.

You can't change what happened. But you can still change what will happen.
